What is a Task Activity Type?

Activity types categorise maintenance tasks based on their purpose and approach, guiding the management of assets and resources effectively. The four maintenance types are as follows:

  1. Corrective Maintenance: Reactive repairs to restore functionality after a failure or malfunction.
  2. Inspection: Proactive assessments to identify potential issues or deterioration.
  3. Modification: Changes or upgrades to improve performance or functionality.
  4. Preventative Maintenance: Scheduled servicing to prevent failures and prolong asset lifespan.

How do I Make Task Activity Type a Mandatory Field?

By default the Activity Type field is set as optional. To update this field to mandatory upon creation of tasks or task templates, please follow the below instructions:

  1. Go to your Avatar and select the 'Configuration Panel' option
  2. Go to the 'Maintenance' module
  3. Toggle the 'Require Activity Type when users create task and task templates' option (See below image)
