Aurizon requires Plant Owners to confirm that maintenance for lifting plant is being carried out in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards and Codes of Practice. This is managed through the Technical Maintenance Plan Compliance (AURIZON) process in Aquipa.
This article explains how to complete the requirement for new plant, existing plant, and reassessments.
When This Applies
You must complete the Technical Maintenance Plan Compliance (AURIZON) requirement if your plant is used for lifting, including:
Cranes
Forklifts
Elevating Work Platforms (EWPs)
Telehandlers
Vehicle Loading Cranes
Earthmoving Plant used for lifting
There are no additional Aquipa fees associated with this requirement.
1. New Plant – Completing Technical Maintenance Plan Compliance (AURIZON)
For new plant, the maintenance requirement is completed after Aurizon approves your normal application.
Step 1 – Submit your normal Aurizon application
When connecting plant to Aurizon, complete and submit:
On-Track Vehicle Application, or
Mobile Plant Application

Step 2 – Wait for Aurizon approval
Once Aurizon reviews and approves your application:
You will receive an in-app notification, and
An email confirmation.
You must now complete Technical Maintenance Plan Compliance (AURIZON).
Step 3 – Create the Technical Maintenance Plan Compliance Work Order
Open the plant profile.
Select the Assessments tab.
Locate Technical Maintenance Plan Compliance (AURIZON).
Click the vertical three-dot menu (⋮).
Select Create Work Order.
➡ The new work order opens automatically.
You do not need to manually find or open it.
Step 4 – Perform the Assessment
Inside the automatically opened work order:
Click Perform Assessment.
Complete all required self-assessment questions.
Upload any necessary evidence.
Submit the assessment.
Aurizon will then review your submission.
Step 5 – Aurizon Approval
Once Aurizon approves the assessment:
Approval is granted, and
The plant profile updates with compliance status and expiry.
2. Existing Plant – Initial Compliance Requirement
Aurizon requires all existing lifting plant already connected in Aquipa to complete the Technical Maintenance Plan Compliance (AURIZON) by:

To complete this:
Go to the plant profile
Open the Assessments tab
Find Technical Maintenance Plan Compliance (AURIZON)
Click the three-dot menu (⋮)
Select Create Work Order
➡ The work order will open automatically.
Then:
Click Perform Assessment
Complete and submit
Compliance status updates once Aurizon approves.
3. Reassessment After Expiry
Technical Maintenance Plan Compliance (AURIZON) has an expiry date.
Notifications
Aquipa will send notifications to Plant Owners 4 weeks before expiry to advise that a reassessment is required.
How to Complete a Reassessment
Open the plant profile
Go to the Assessments tab
Locate Technical Maintenance Plan Compliance (AURIZON)
Click the three-dot menu (⋮)
Select Create Work Order
➡ The work order will open automatically.
Inside the work order:
Click Perform Reassessment
Complete the required fields
Submit for Aurizon review
Once Aurizon approves compliance status will update.
