How to Clone Plant

Clone Plant

If you have multiple similar pieces of plant, you can use the Clone function to create copies of an existing plant profile. This can save time when adding plant with similar details, as you can clone an existing asset and then update the details that need to be unique, such as the Internal ID and Serial Number.

When should I clone plant?

Cloning plant is useful when you need to add one or more pieces of plant that are the same or very similar to one already in Aquipa.

For example, you may have multiple machines with the same make, model, or specifications, but each machine still needs its own unique profile, Internal ID, and Serial Number.

How to clone plant

  1. Go to the Plant module.

  2. Open the profile of the plant you want to clone.

  3. At the top of the plant profile page, click Advanced.

  4. Select Clone.

  5. When prompted, enter the number of copies you want to create in the How many copies do you want to create? field.

  6. Click Clone to create the copies.

  7. Open each cloned plant profile.

  8. Edit the Internal ID and Serial Number so they match the new piece of plant.

  9. Review each cloned plant profile and make any other updates required.

What is not cloned?

Documents and client connections are not cloned.

After cloning, you will need to add any required documents and create any required client connections separately on the new plant profile.

Important things to check after cloning

After cloning plant, make sure you review each new plant profile carefully.

In particular, check that:

  • The Internal ID is correct.

  • The Serial Number or VIN/Serial is correct.

  • The plant details and specifications are accurate for the new asset.

  • Any required documents have been added.

  • Any required client connections have been created.

Each piece of plant should have its own accurate and unique profile in Aquipa.

I can’t see the Clone option

If you cannot see Advanced or Clone, you may not have the required permissions, or the feature may not be available for your account. Please contact your account administrator or Aquipa support for help.
