How to Override an Incorrect Odometer or Usage Reading

This guide explains how to update usage parameters, the permissions required, and how Aquipa handles lower usage entries during pre-starts.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Sometimes an odometer or usage value may be entered incorrectly on an asset. If this happens, users with the correct permissions can manually override the recorded usage parameters.

Permission Requirements

Overriding usage parameters is permission-guarded.
You must have the required permission enabled for your role or user account.
If you don’t see the override option, please contact your Aquipa administrator.

How to Override Usage Parameters

  1. Open the asset’s profile page.

  2. Click the Advanced tab at the top.

  3. Select Override Usage Parameters.

  4. Enter the correct usage value (e.g., odometer, engine hours).

  5. Provide a reason for the override — this is mandatory and will be stored in the system’s audit log.

  6. Click Submit to save the corrected value.

The new value becomes the updated baseline for all future usage entries.

Usage Safeguards During Pre-Starts (Lower Values Only)

Aquipa includes a safeguard to help prevent incorrect lower usage entries during pre-starts.

Warning for Lower Usage Values

If an operator enters a usage value that is lower than the asset’s current recorded usage, Aquipa will display a warning asking them to confirm that the value is correct.

If they choose to proceed despite the warning, Aquipa will automatically create a task:

Task Name: Usage Parameter Conflict Review

Why This Task Is Created

This task is generated only when pre-start usage values are lower than the asset’s current usage value.
It prompts your team to verify the accuracy of the submitted data.

What You Need to Do

  • If the operator’s entry is correct use Override Usage Parameters to update the asset’s usage to the correct baseline.

  • If the entry was incorrect, no further action is required, simply close the task.
